Summary
The Skilled Carpenter performs a wide range of carpentry tasks in commercial, industrial, and institutional construction projects. This role is best suited for carpenters who are experienced, self-motivated, and capable of completing work with minimal supervision.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform commercial and industrial carpentry duties, including:
- Framing (wood and metal)
- Doors, hardware, and trim
- Drywall and acoustical ceilings
- Cabinetry and finish work
- Renovation and new construction tasks
- Safely operate standard hand and power tools
- Read and interpret construction documents and layout work accordingly
- Maintain quality, productivity, and jobsite organization
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Maintain a strong work ethic and professional attitude
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
- 3+ years of commercial or industrial carpentry experience
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks efficiently
- Proficient with common carpentry tools and equipment
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
- OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR preferred (training available)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders/scaffolding, and work in varying conditions
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Projects are typically within one hour of Sandusky, Ohio
- No overnight travel required
- Standard work hours: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Occasional voluntary Saturday work
